Jackie Sibblies Drury’s “We Are Proud to Present…,” the inaugural production in Theatre Y’s new performance center in North Lawndale, was nominated for three 2024 Joseph Jefferson Awards (Non-Equity): Best Production (Play), Best Ensemble (Play), and Best Director (Play). Roberts portrayed Actor 1/White Man—one-sixth of a “marvelously nimble cast” (NewCity Stage). “We Are Proud to Present…” was also “Recommended” by the Chicago Reader, and received three (out of four) stars from the Chicago Tribune.
